      <image:title>About the Author - A.B. Parr</image:title>
<image:caption>When I write, I am spilling my guts- showing you my marrow. So, “Let’s Ride!” Something like a biography… In 1983, A.B. Parr was a restless child in San Jose, California. One warm afternoon, dust motes drifted lazily through the sunlight pouring across the bedroom floor. After a day of testing his mother’s patience, as children often do, she handed him two books: The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien and Dracula by Bram Stoker. What began as a quiet attempt to keep a child occupied became something much larger. Those two novels consumed the next year of his life. Sitting in a small, warm patch of sunlight on the carpet, Parr read them again and again, discovering worlds of adventure, horror, and imagination. That moment, simple and almost accidental, sparked a lifelong love of storytelling and the written word. From then on, he wrote constantly. Not for publication, and not for an audience, but for himself. Notebooks filled with stories accumulated over the years were tucked away in attic boxes and desk drawers. Writing remained a private pursuit until 2022, when he finally decided to share those stories with the world. Parr was born in Louisville, Kentucky, and spent much of his childhood moving throughout the contiguous United States. He later attended Southeastern Louisiana University, where he studied history, and the University of New Orleans, where he earned a degree in Special Education. He completed graduate coursework in psychology through Kaplan University (now Purdue Global). Before becoming a published author, Parr worked in a variety of fields that shaped his perspective on people and storytelling: computer programming in IT, bookstore management, café management, history education, and special education. His first novel, Blood Ties, introduced readers to the character Ada Picou and established the foundation for what Parr calls the “Adaverse,” a connected narrative world in which most of his novels take place. He is also the author of Dead Cold and Showdown. Parr’s work has appeared in Quilted Visions: A Poetry Collection, Kentucky Review, The Times-Picayune, The New Orleans Advocate, The Farmer, and 2600 Magazine. When writing, Parr often listens to music, allowing rhythm and atmosphere to weave themselves into the stories he creates. For him, the experience of writing and music together forms an interwoven tapestry, sound and story shaping one another. Today, he continues building new stories within the Adaverse while exploring new characters, genres, and ideas. And it all began in a small patch of sunlight on the carpet. Influences: Louis L’Amour, Zane Grey, Haruki Murakami, Laura Van den Burg,</image:caption>
